No spoilers in this review!!Two stars book. I read, on average, five books per week. This one took me two entire days! It clearly was not sent to an editor or proofreader before publishing, so I was forced to do it as I read! Way too much work! Grammatical errors (to, too, two; there, their, they're; etc.)were rampant throughout this book. Sentence structure? None to be found - lots of run-ons, though. Punctuation was horrific. Then to add insult to injury, switching between first person, present to past within the same sentence or paragraph made my brain work overtime! I could rarely tell whose thoughts or spoken words she was conveying at a time.
My advise to the author? Have your work proofread and edited.
Two stars because I love hockey - I have been a hockey mom for 20+ years. She has some of the terminology right, so thumbs up for that. I can also relate to the grief she tries to convey. That is difficult to do even as a non-fiction writer. I could feel what she was writing about, perhaps because of my own losses. I can see, though, how it would have been hit or miss for someone who hadn't ever experienced loss or extreme situations. She seemed to at least be writing from some personal knowledge of that concept. Our best writing is done when we use our own experiences.
Two last criticisms, and I will be done. When someone picks up a book to read, they do not like to read the same thing over and over again. The intimate scenes were repetitive. And, honestly, if that is as steamy as her imagination will allow, she could have cut out half the chapters. No one wants to read about their own tame sex life, either. The references to "pearl" and "smirk" were used ad nauseum. If you are going to write in this genre, invest in a romance writer's thesaurus and don't be afraid to use "vulgar" words, because you are writing about something intimate and messy to begin with. Your readers can take it!
Keep writing, though! It will get easier! If you need a proofreader, look me up!

I found it very depressing and did't enjoy this book at all. It was a waste of my time and energy. I'm sorry I bought it
Everyone in this book is smirking. He smirks. She smirks. The boss smirks. The other members of the team smirks. I will admit that I only just started the book but I find that I keep betting with myself to see who smirks next. I'm even thinking about how many times smirk is used throughout the book. I did a search on my kindle. Smirk is used 186 times the book. My advice to the author...get a dictionary and start reading it. Maybe you'll find some new words to use.
Just finished this book. Oh my goodness I lved it. It was so sad how Gael had such a loss and the here comes Kayden. It broke my heart the trails and tribulations they went through. Over how it ended though.
A really Good read. I enjoyed the story line. It was funny and heartwarming It really pulled me into the story.
Wish he could have been older but the story worked really well. Would recommend to anyone who loves a gritting, hot, story.
I love hockey stories and always look for them when searching for my next purchase. This one started out fine and I knew it was going to be a good one but, Gael' s character turned me off and I couldn't even finish the book. The author , through Kayden' s thoughts, describe Gael as being demure and reserved. Quite the opposite! She spouts and inwardly thinks the f-word so many times. It just didn't mirror her character and got to be annoying after a while. There were other things in this story that were so unbelievable, like every member of the team getting involved in their relationship. I'm really sorry I purchased this book. It wasn't what I thought it was.
